Our Cycle 1 students benefit from a 100% French learning environment (with the exception of 60 minutes per week of Ethics instruction). During this cycle, the children are exposed to structure and content that is very new to them. As this transition is critical for the children and requires a great deal of focus on their part, the students maintain the same homeroom teacher for both grades 1&2, which secures a familiar environment while making this significant transition. Special clubs, like the book club also foster their love for learning.
The Cycle 1 Math program introduces addition, subtraction, statistics, geometry and problem solving while Language Development is enhanced with reading, writing, spelling and oral presentations. Concepts in science, unleashing the children’s’ curiosity are taught in the homeroom setting as well.
From the very beginning of Cycle 1, our students are brought into our Art, Music and Physical Education specialized programs. These programs are delivered using dedicated facilities, equipment, instruments and techniques.
